Preparations ahead of this guide
Before this guide, we assume you have the following in place.
- Vrex user account, connected to an organization.
- A project created in this account
- A working VR device, charged and connected to WiFi
- Vrex is installed on this device, preferably through a device management system like Meta Work or an app store like the App-Lab.
If you are missing any of these things, please reach out to support@vrex.no
Basic
Starting the Vrex Go app
You find the app by clicking the “dot-grid” icon on the menu bar. If it is not there, open the dropdown menu at the top right corner.
META WORK users will find Vrex under “Work” or where your company typically organizes your work apps.
Other users will find Vrex under “Unknown Sources”.

Get into your project
Logging in is the same as any Vrex application, using the same credentials you use to access https://app.vrex.no
- Choose your project.
- Once you choose your room, Vrex starts buffering your models.
- When it is ready, click “Start VR”.
This takes you to the Vrex Lobby room, anticipating more people to join you.

Initiate a meeting
- [Enter Presenter Mode] Enables a user to take the meeting leader role.
- [Viewpoints] The viewpoint menu is enabled.
- [Teleport users] icon next to he viewpoint name, takes the whole meeting group to this location in the project.
Do not worry if someone arrives late or reconnects; they will automatically be brought to the group’s location.

If the viewpoint list is empty, someone must create viewpoints to continue.
The next section shows how to do this.
Preparing Viewpoints
Viewpoints must be created on a computer, not a standalone device.
The easiest way to get started is to install Vrex GO on any laptop or workstation, and do this in screen mode. Download the Vrex Go for desktop here.
Using VR for this is great, but it must be PC-VR or Cloud-Streaming-VR.
Creating a Viewpoints
When opening the Vrex Go desktop application and entering the project on a computer, you will see that you have more buttons available.

Click “Enter Presenter Mode” on the left-hand side, this enables the “Enter Edit Mode” button. Clicking it brings you to the “Create Viewpoint” guide, which tells you to go to the general location of where your first viewpoint should be.

[Next] takes you to the viewpoint editor where you highlight objects to be included in your viewpoint.
Viewpoint Editor
- The viewpoint menu is described from the top.
- [#number] unique ID for this viewpoint in this project.
- [Text Field] name your viewpoint, the default is “Viewpoint”.
- [Clone] the viewpoint.
- [Delete] the viewpoint.
- [+/- Selection] enables a brush to add/remove objects from your viewpoint.
- [Brush] toggles a fat or thin brush.
- [Reset highlights] removes all.
- [Object count] shows how many objects are included.
- [isolates] or [hides] your currently highlighted objects, to give access to more easily add/remove objects.
- [Hide objects] to get access to something behind or inside other objects.
- [Undo] undoes the last action
- [Eye] unhides all hidden objects.

You may notice that [Triangle Count] is visible in this screenshot, and not visible in your version of Vrex. This is because [Object count] is the currently the default. - In situations where your objects are too large, or you have many tiny objects, Triangle Count may be a better budget. - Let us know and we can try this out for your project.
Preview your viewpoint
This shows how the viewpoint will be experienced by a Standalone device, including the location they initially arrive at.
- [Go to start position], takes you to the previously saved starting position for this viewpoint.
- [Make your pos. the new start] saves your current position as the start position for this viewpoint.
- [Save] saves your viewpoint, and exits the editor.
- [Exit Preview] takes you back to the editor to continue adding/removing objects.

Returning to the Lobby
Once you are happy with the viewpoints you have created, you can [Exit Edit Mode], which returns you to the lobby.
Or you can go in and review and edit your viewpoints further.

As a project updates, Vrex aims to keep your viewpoints updated automatically. - So the biggest job is creating the viewpoints initially, with very little upkeep needed.
