Optimize Point Clouds for Vrex use with Recap

Reduce density

1. When importing point cloud scans to Recap, go to the Advanced tab.
2. Reduce the decimation grid to 1 point per 5mm

Remove 360 images and metadata

1. Export your Point Cloud scan to E57
2. Make sure to select ’export 3d-only'

These two options will drastically reduce the size of any point cloud scans.

PS! As a best practice we suggest to establish a specific naming standard for any altered point cloud scans to reflect the changes that has been done.
