Vrex Performance Mode For Very Heavy Models

🚀 Vrex Performance Optimization Guide

This guide will show you how to boost Vrex performance on large-scale projects using geometry streaming, transparency settings, and view distance adjustments. These tips are especially useful for high-resolution mesh projects.

📦 Enable Geometry Streaming

Geometry Streaming allows your device to load only visible geometry from disk directly to the GPU, improving performance dramatically on heavy projects.

  • Open any project in Vrex.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Enable Geometry Streaming.
  • Optionally, disable Transparency for further performance gains.
  • For exceptional performance gains, choose Disable Colliders
    • This turns off object-interactions by default.
    • Click “B” on your keyboard or VR controller to load interactivity on nearby objects.
Note: Having to click to load is a short term solution, as we wanted to bring this feature to those needing it quickly. But it will in near-future-updates become automated so you don’t have to click.

💡 Summary of Performance Features

  • Decimation: Automatic nuts & bolts removal during import.
  • Geometry Streaming: Loads geometry as needed, as you move around.
  • Transparency Toggle: Disabling transparency reduces rendering load.
  • Disable Colliders: Turns off all interactions with objects by default.
  • View Distance Slider: Controls how many far-objects are rendered.
